About Igi Ama

Origins
I have always been passionate about beauty, aesthetics, and the timeless charm of the past. Not just in clothing and fabrics, but in everything that surrounds us: objects, historic homes, design, nature, and more.
After a transformative trip to India with a friend, I discovered a world filled with vibrant colors, rich history, and incredible local craftsmanship. In Jaipur, I came across a small textile workshop where I sourced beautiful fabrics and commissioned a few custom pieces for myself, something that refined my style and that at the same time I always struggled to find elsewhere.
I started by creating jackets and vests, and they were immediately loved by friends and family. But more than anything, I realized I had uncovered a true passion. This journey ignited a creative spark in me, pushing me to continue designing new collections and fully dedicating myself to this project.

Brand Concept
If I had to define the essence of the brand in three words, I would say: strong, timeless and chic.
My inspiration is deeply rooted in the past—an era of elegance that may seem forgotten but remains the epitome of sophistication. Vintage Vogue images, classical paintings, historical periods, countryside life, the colors of nature, and the many cultures I encounter while traveling all shape the soul of the brand. Of course, everything is reimagined with a touch of modernity.
I dream of bringing back this refined yet bold aesthetic, making it a defining trend once again.

The Art of Craftsmanship
This project is still in its early stages, but my motivation is stronger than ever. India is my creative muse, but Italy—renowned for its culture, beauty, luxurious textiles, and skilled artisans—is also a key pillar of the brand.
Most fabrics are personally selected by me in India, and many of the garments are handcrafted in Jaipur. Others come from my research in deadstock fabric warehouses, where I fall in love with rare and unique materials. Some textiles are also sourced from different parts of the world during my travels.
Currently, production is primarily based in India and Italy. However, given the brand’s cosmopolitan spirit and my love for discovering new cultures, I envision expanding production to other countries in the future.
